This Privacy Policy explains how MyLawnRx ("the app", "we", "us") handles your data. We are a small independent product. We do not run analytics in the app, we do not sell data, and your lawn photos stay on your phone.
Data Stored on Your Device
The following stays on your iPhone and is never sent to us or any third party:
- Lawn photos you capture or import
- Scan history including date, diagnosis, and notes
- Your profile (ZIP code, grass type, sun exposure, lawn goal)
This data is stored in your device's local database. It is included in your iCloud or iTunes device backups according to your iOS settings.
Data Sent to Third Parties
Anthropic (AI Provider)
When you analyze a lawn photo, the photo (as a downsized JPEG) plus your context (ZIP code, grass type, sun exposure, goal, optional notes) is sent through our backend proxy to Anthropic's Claude API for analysis. Anthropic does not retain inputs for training and processes requests according to Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
Apple (Payments)
Subscription purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never receive your payment information. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
RevenueCat (Subscription Management)
We use RevenueCat to verify your subscription status. RevenueCat receives an anonymous device identifier and your subscription receipt from Apple. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
Cloudflare (Backend Proxy)
Our backend runs on Cloudflare Workers and forwards your AI requests to Anthropic. Cloudflare may log request metadata (IP address, timestamp) for abuse prevention.
Amazon (Affiliate Links)
When you tap a product recommendation, we open Amazon in your browser with our affiliate tag attached. Once you arrive at Amazon, their normal privacy practices apply. See Amazon's Privacy Notice.
Data We Do Not Collect
- We do not run analytics or telemetry inside the app
- We do not track your precise location (we only use the ZIP code you provide)
- We do not share or sell any data with advertisers
- We do not have an account system
Permissions Used
- Camera — only when you take a lawn photo
- Photo Library — only when you import a photo to analyze
- Location — optional; only used if you choose to derive your ZIP from current location instead of typing it manually
Children's Privacy
MyLawnRx is a homeowner tool. It is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect any data from children.
Data Retention
Because your data lives on your device, you control retention through the app. You can delete scans, photos, or your profile at any time. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data (subject to your iCloud/iTunes backup settings).
Affiliate Disclosure
MyLawnRx is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. We earn fees when readers purchase products via our affiliate links. This program does not influence what we recommend — we always recommend the product category that fits your diagnosis, never specific brands.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Effective date" above. Significant changes will be highlighted in the app.
